Person Involved: Sue L. Bukovitz


On Monday, December 14, 2015 school officials were made aware of a possible sexual relationship between an Orrville High School senior student and a teacher (Sue L. Bukovitz). School officials immediately investigated the allegation by speaking to a couple of high school students and a high school employee. Based on their investigation, school officials notified the Orrville Police Department on the same date.

The Orrville Police Department immediately began an investigation into the allegation. A male Orrville High School senior student admitted to investigators to having a sexual relationship with Sue L. Bukovitz who was a teacher at Orrville High School. The attorney representing Sue L. Bukovitz informed investigators that his client will not be speaking with them.

Investigators completed their investigation and submitted their case to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office to consider the charge of sexual battery against Sue L. Bukovitz.

Under Ohio law a person can be charged with Sexual Battery (2907.03) even if the victim is an adult, if the offender is a teacher, administrator, coach, or other person in authority employed by or serving in a school and (the victim) is enrolled in or attends that school.
